An important update from Taco

It is with mixed feelings that I write to let you know that I will cease to provide adult treatment on the NHS from June 2023 onwards. This change will affect all my patients who are registered with me under the NHS. My Private, Denplan and practice plan patients will not be affected by this change.

It has been a privilege to see and treat so many of you over the years under the NHS and the decision to move away from the NHS at this time has not been taken lightly. Some of you have been seeing me since I qualified nearly 20 years ago and followed me as I moved practices, which is the ultimate compliment for a dentist (either that or you just love BBC6Music on the radio during visits!) Some of you have been coming to Mount Florida Dental even longer.

I have always strived to provide the best possible care for all my patients, irrelevant of NHS or private dentistry. However, the continued changes to NHS dentistry are rendering it increasingly difficult to do this and unfortunately it is simply no longer possible for me to continue to provide NHS dentistry.

I hope that many of you who are registered with me as an NHS patient will continue to come see me at Mount Florida Dental outwith of the NHS. More detailed information about these options follows at the end of this letter. I will however continue to provide NHS services for children of those patients who continue to see me as their dentist.

Although my step away from adult NHS dentistry follows Robbie’s similar announcement last year, Mount Florida Dental as a practice will continue to provide NHS treatment, albeit in a different form to what you have been used to. Our practice books have been closed for some time to new NHS patients, but Sabbah will take on any patients who wish to remain as NHS patients at the practice. There may, however, be limitations on times and days for NHS treatments which we can discuss with you.

I thank you again for your support over the years and hopefully your understanding in this decision. Please have a look at your options on the next page, and I very much hope to be able to continue to be your dentist in the future.

      Kind regards,

          TacoJ

WHAT ARE MY OPTIONS ?

A. Continue your dental care with Taco

    1. Join our practice plan

From just £15 a month, you can join our practice plan which includes all your exams, x-rays, emergency appointments, two hygiene visits, 10% off most treatment and more. You can also chose additional options such as extra hygiene visits or include the cost of dental treatment. Information about this plan can be found here:

    www.mountflorida.dental/html/dental_plan.html.

What do I need to do? Please call or email the practice if you wish to discuss or join this plan and set up a direct debit.

    2. Private patient Pay-As-You-Go.

Pay for your treatment as and when you attend.

What do I need to do? Nothing, just let us know you wish to see Taco as a private patient when you make your next appointment.

    3. Join as a Denplan patient.

Similar to the plan, but done through the company Denplan and includes the cost of dental treatment, hygiene visits and worldwide dental cover. See www.denplan.co.uk for more information.

What do I need to do? Please call or email the practice if you wish to discuss or join this plan and set up a direct debit.

B. Continue as an NHS patient at Mount Florida Dental

Your NHS registration will be transferred from Taco to one of our other dentists at Mount Florida Dental. Allocation to which dentist will depend on availability.

What do I need to do? Nothing, this will happen automatically in June and you do not need to do anything. Next time you call for an appointment you will be booked in with one of our associate dentists at the practice.

C. Register a different practice

What do I need to do? When you register at another NHS dental practice the health board automatically deregisters you from our practice and transfers your registration to the new practice.
