Meet the Mount Florida Dental Team

Here at Mount Florida Dental we have a simple principle and ethos which involves putting the patient first, listening, and delivering the highest standard of Dentistry in an honest way.

We provide bespoke, durable, high quality dentistry for the whole family, both on the NHS and privately. We are also a Denplan practice.

Taco, Robbie and Matthew all qualified from Glasgow Dental School. Taco and Robbie nearly 20 years ago and have worked together ever since. First as associates in Jordanhill, then at their own practices in Renfrew and subsequently Mount Florida where they joined Matthew and Annette in 2015.

To provide our patients with the best dental health, we like  to see them regularly to find and fix any problems early on, before they worsen into painful, irreversible or more expensive problems. Similarly it's great to have young children attend early on to get them used to the dental practice so that we can deliver the best possible dental care and advice for them. We are a Childsmile Practice, and have a great hygienist in Annette, after all, prevention is better than cure.

Of course emergencies such as toothache, abscesses and dental trauma do happen and we endeavour to see all registered patient emergencies the same day if possible to get them out of pain.

Other than looking after your general dental health we also carry out cosmetic dentistry. We are big champions of the ABB (align, bond and bleach) principle. This minimal invasive treatment delivers great aesthetic results by simply straightening twisted or tilted teeth with cosmetic orthodonitcs, whitening them and covering any discrepancies with simple bonded aesthetic white fillings.

In certain cases where something more extensive is required such as veneers, bridge work, implants or dentures, we use a fantastic network of high quality dental labs around the country that help us provide beautiful bespoke restorations. We can also provide splints for migranes, snoring appliances, mouthguards, retainers and more!

When not fixing teeth Robbie can often be found on a mountain indulging in two of  his other passions. Most of year this involves cycling up and down them, but when there is even the slightest covering of snow, he loves nothing more than strapping a plank of wood to his feet and snowboarding down them. Ask him about either of those subjects and you can expect to be bored into a state of complete relaxation, so don't say we didn't warn you! On the plus side, he has promised not to wear any Lycra in the practice.

Taco was originally born in Holland, but not being tall, blond or very good at football it was quite apt that he moved to Scotland, where he has now lived most of his life.  When not doing dentistry he can usually be found in dusty second hand record shops, at obscure music gigs or at home listening to said music (on vinyl of course). Although his wife questions the actual term “music” for some of them, this has not stopped him subjecting his family to it, in the vain hope they will eventually grow to love it.....
